Our first graders are becoming published authors! Their topic will be what they want to be when they grow up. Because of this, they have been having some career highlights. This week they were visited by an industrial mechanic, a police office, a school nurse, a flight nurse, an ER doctor, and a police officer. They loved learning about the different tools they use everyday. They are so excited to write about the careers they will have one day!

First grade investigated apples this week. They read different nonfiction stories to collect facts and topped the week off with cool STEM projects. In Miss Pauling's room they learned about chemical reactions and made apple volcanoes. In Mrs. Seibert's room they learned about different 3-Dimensional shapes. Then, they used apple pieces and toothpicks to make structures. In Mrs. Page's room they created functional baskets to carry an apple. The kiddos loved working with each teacher!
