On Friday, Renaissance members attended the Jostens Renaissance Student and Educator Collaborative at Solanco High School. After listening to presenter Dr. Michelle CarneyRay-Yoder and Keynote Speaker Gian Paul Gonzalez, members are excited to implement new ideas to inspire students, faculty, and staff!

Students attended Susquehanna University's Creative Writing Day, listening to faculty and creative writing students' readings and participating in prose and poetry workshops.

Students Offering Support (S.O.S) sponsored an after-school activity night for 7th-grade students on November 9. Students engaged in a variety of activities, including open gym, board games, karaoke, and cornhole.









The Renaissance Organization sponsored its second-annual Senior Sunrise on Friday, November 17. The Class of 2024 arrived at 6:15 AM and shared a beautiful morning, complete with donuts, hot chocolate, and warm cider.

Students in 6th grade have been learning to use the Sphero Bolts during their library classes. They are programming and driving their robots to complete a series of missions.










Mrs. Shay's science class working to find creative solutions to challenges and redesigning experiments by building straw towers and seeing how much weight they could suspend.

Elementary students learned about several careers that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. These careers included computer programming, nursing, engineering, and construction.
Special thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers for sharing their incredible knowledge with our students and how their careers relate to STEM.





First grade pumpkin investigation! On Tuesday, the kiddos worked through each first grade classroom. In Mrs. Page's room, we learned about the pumpkin lifecycle. At the end, they planted a seed in hopes of starting a new cycle! In Mrs. Seibert's room, everyone explored the different properties of pumpkins. They weighed, measured, and looked into density! In Miss Pauling's room, we learned about the properties of leaves. We researched the reason why leaves change color. Then, we made our own leaf creations!









Come out and support the Greenwood High School Cheerleaders at the 2023 Perry County Cheerleading Tournament Wednesday, November 8th at Newport High School! We hope to see you there!
