
This week, members of the Honor Society and FFA teamed up with several community organizations to make blankets for flood victims. In total, 76 blankets will be taken to North Carolina at the end of the month.





First grade is becoming published authors! To help inspire them on what they want to be when they grow up, they have community visitors coming in to share their talents. Today we had the best visitor, Dr. Lawhead. He is our local vet! He did an amazing job explaining the incredible jobs of a vet. He brought some show and tell items to being what he does to light. He showed us tools for operations and everything!






Sports and Entertainment students are managing and operating their own stadiums. In this simulation the students have to select prices for their
games, select concerts and events, determine the staffing and concessions for each as well as create marketing content and seek out sponsorships. which team will make the most profit.





Nine FFA members attended the State FFA Freshman Leadership Conference at the Blair County Convention Center on October 1, 2024. They participated in leadership development activities and met FFA members from all over the state.

On Thursday, Oct 10, Greenwood Field Hockey was able to honor our seniors (Sophie Myers, Bella Wiehe, Bekah Brinser, Ashlin Bucher, Grace Miller and Hannah Shiffer), encourage our youth players and celebrate our present! GHSFH

Digital Design students creating stop animation videos. Students had to design sets, create characters and shoot 150-200 shots to create their stop animation videos.






Today, 7th graders in Mrs. Brummer's Pre-Algebra class created paper airplanes and collected data. This information will now be used to create stem and leaf plots, box and whisker plots, and compare measures of central tendency.

First grade investigated apples this week. They read different nonfiction stories to collect facts and topped the week off with cool STEM projects. In Miss Pauling's room they learned about chemical reactions and made apple volcanoes. In Mrs. Seibert's room they learned about different 3-Dimensional shapes. Then, they used apple pieces and toothpicks to make structures. In Mrs. Page's room they created Oobleck out of applesauce!

Today Elementary students enjoyed the Hazard Heroes performance, sponsored by PPL, and presented by the National Theater for Children. We learned all about electricity, including what it's used for, where it comes from, and how to use it safely. When there's an electrical hazard we learned to "stay clear, don't go near"!
