The Board has just finalized the first round of interviews with selected candidates. We had the opportunity to meet a group of highly qualified individuals who are deeply commitment educational leaders. We spent about 50 to 55 minutes with each candidate, and asked a series of questions around their views on leadership, governance, school budgeting and finance, climate and culture, communications, strengths and weaknesses, and why they may be a ‘fit’ for Greenwood. The Board will be meeting again soon to further discuss the candidates and determine our next steps.

We have concluded the process of reviewing the candidates who have expressed an interest in the superintendent position, and have started interviewing selected candidates. We have received an impressive response through our advertising and recruiting efforts, and have set aside three evenings to interview candidates in the first round. We will be continuing to utilize the results of the Focus Group discussions and the surveys to develop interview questions and assess the quality of candidate responses. When the first round concludes, the Board will be assessing all of its options moving forward and informing the public through this section of the website.

A note of thanks! The Board would like to express its appreciation to all staff who participated in the Focus Group discussions yesterday. We will be utilizing the results of both the surveys and focus groups to develop interview questions with the candidates, guide the candidate background and referencing checking process, and for the development of future goals. We are also at the point in the search where we are starting to look at candidate resumes and preparing for initial interviews. Stay tuned for additional details!

Hello again, everyone. The search is continuing to move forward, and the deadline to apply is approaching. We are continuing to work through our search consultant, who has been promoting the position and recruiting candidates. We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who completed the survey. We had 155 responses! The Board is looking forward to taking a close look at those results and incorporating the major themes into this process. We expect to be providing a report next week regarding additional news related to the search!

The search for the next superintendent is off and running! We have secured the services to TEMPLETON Advantage, LLC to conduct the search, and we’ve hired Mr. Richard Musselman to serve as the district’s acting superintendent while we undertake the search process. Mr. Musselman is the former superintendent of the Juniata County SD and Midd West SD. When you get the chance, please welcome him aboard!
