Hello Greenwood Families,
After close to two decades of service and with mixed emotions as well as humility, I share that last evening, the Big Spring School District Board of Directors appointed me as their next Superintendent of Schools. My family and I are excited and have anxious anticipation for this next professional opportunity in my career.
Over the last three months when this career opportunity was developing and being finalized, reflection became part of the daily process. The sum of all of these thoughts has elicited strong emotions. I am HUMBLED, APPRECIATIVE, and THANKFUL, to have served the Greenwood School District as an administrator for the past 18 years. The collaborative and forward focused relationships that have been fostered over this time centered on student development and well-being. These relationships have brought and will continue to bring a great deal of joy to me personally and professionally.
As the district works through this transition, please know that I remain committed to our daily management, building leadership onboarding and search for a new district leader. Mrs. Comp, Mr. Nastasi and I will further our conversations in an effort to provide any and all necessary guidance as each assumes the important goal of moving our buildings forward. Also, any assistance our School Board desires in the process related to finding the next superintendent will be available as well.
A final transition date will be decided in the near future. An official letter of resignation will be presented at our March Board meeting. In closing, we spend so much of our adult lives in the workforce. To have experienced such a productive, student-centered, growth orientated school community has been rewarding and enriching. I trust that these qualities will remain essential ingredients of Greenwood School District for the next decade and beyond.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our students, staff, parents/guardians and school board members of the past and the present that have shared unwavering support throughout the years…the memories are vivid and strong!
