Instructional Support Services
Students experiencing academic, behavioral, or interpersonal difficulty in regular education will have access to Instructional Support Team. The instructional support process is composed of assessment and intervention procedures. These are used to assure that students receive an effective instructional program that will meet their needs. The Instructional Support Team (IST) meets to assist classroom teachers in planning and implementing strategies that are designed to produce success for the referred students. The team is aided by an Instructional Support Teacher, specially trained to assist other teachers in meeting the goals set by the team. Requests for assistance can be made by classroom teachers, other school staff, parents, or students. The Instructional Support Teacher evaluates and works with children in grades kindergarten through sixth . Strategies and interventions are developed by a team of teachers, parents, and administration to improve the child's success in the regular classroom. Following thirty school days, the success of the interventions are evaluated by the team and recommendations are given. This day has been given to me fresh and clear.I can either use it or throw it away.I promise myself I shall use this day to its fullest, realizing it can never come back again.I realize this is my life to use or throw away.I am the only person who has the power to decide what I will be.I make myself what I am.
