Welcome to 3rd Grade!
Hello! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to third grade! I am looking forward to a year full of discovery and fun. Please note the following information that will get this year off and running.
All necessary items needed for the school year will be provided however, you are welcome to bring any of the following materials if you wish:
- Pencil Box
- Glue Stick
- Colored pencils/crayons
- Art smock
(An ART SMOCK could be an old T-shirt, button up shirt, or an apron. Make sure it can fit over everyday clothes and get messy.)
- Homework folder (The first folder will be provided.)
You will receive a homework folder on the first day of school. This folder is to be used to transport homework and papers to and from school.
You are expected to complete a homework tracker listing all assignments for each day of the week. Make sure you write neatly so your parents can understand what you need to do (assignments will be written on the board daily for you to copy). Then, you need to ask a parent to sign their name on the tracker each day, even if no homework has been assigned. Every morning, you will show your homework folder/tracker to your teacher.
I expect to receive all homework assignments when they are due. Absent students can turn their make-up work in the day(s) after they return to school.
Parents, please acknowledge the importance of homework and good study habits and the effect they have on your child’s academic career. Encourage your child to finish his/her homework each night it is assigned. Always remind your child to double check their work.
These next 2 items are very important pieces of information: When do you EAT LUNCH and have RECESS?
Lunch: We eat 2nd lunch from 11:15-11:45 (2nd and 3rd grade)
Recess: 11:45-12:15 (2nd and 3rd grade)
You are welcome to bring a water bottle to school. Please make sure that the bottle can be sealed. Water only please!
