This page will contain any miscellaneous information that could help with projects and upcoming events in our classroom.  I will be posting project information, holiday events, and other important "stuff" that parents may be curious about.  Please check in here when you have questions - maybe the answer will be on this page!

     1.  Salt Dough recipe:
Ingredients - 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1-1 1/2 cup hot water (from tap), 2 tsp. vegetable oil (optional)
Mix salt and flour together, add water gradually until the dough becomes elastic.  (some recipes call for vege. oil at this point.)  If your mixture turns out too sticky, add  more flour.  If it turns out too crumbly, add more water (drops at a time).  Knead the dough until it is a good consistency (like play-dough).
    2.  Test Study tips:
    1.  With your child make notecards with questions on the front and answers on the back.  I always had my children make these so that they actually were studying when they created the notecards. (use organizers and study guides to create the questions)
    2.  Create practice tests giving questions that your child can practice answering.  Have children correct mistakes they make.
    3.  When provided with a study guide ask your child questions from the study guide.
    4.  Study each night leading up to the test, not just the night before.
    5.  Be sure your child eats breakfast and gets a good nights sleep before the test (or any other school day!)
    6.   Encourage them, they can do it if they put forth the effort.
