    Dear students, parents, and families,

Just as I am anxious about meeting you and learning about your background, I am sure that you also have questions about me!

My name is Mrs. Joelle Bond (I was previously "Miss Reisinger"), and this will be my second year teaching at Greenwood Elementary.  I grew up (and still live) in Ickesburg and graduated from West Perry.  In 2014, I graduated from Messiah College with certifications in both elementary and special education.  I then taught second grade in the Mechanicsburg Area School District for two years.  I am nearly finished with my Penn State coursework to earn my Master’s degree in Literacy Curriculum and Instruction.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy playing field hockey and basketball and watching Penn State football.  I also enjoy running, hiking, kayaking, reading, and spending time with my family.  This summer, I spent a week exploring Alaska with my husband. I loved hiking in Denali National Park, but my favorite part was a horseback ride!  I am excited to hear about your summer adventures too!

The most important thing you should know about me is that I view teaching as a calling; I love the learning process and hope to cultivate this love for learning in your child this year.  Please also know that you are the most important teacher in your child’s life, and I greatly value your insights and help!
