    Are you concerned about your child's or another family member's substance abuse?  You may want to consider the services provided by Perry Human Services.  PHS has a parent/family support group that meets every 2nd Monday of the month from 7-8:30 PM. Find encouragement and help!

    The Church of God in Landisburg, PA is starting a Family and Friends Support Group.  This will be an 8 week workshop focusing on Addiction:

    The Perry County Family Center is offering free Parenting Classes every Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 at their center.  Child care is not available.

    8th Family Fun Fair

    The Capital Area Children's Center is sponsoring a Family Fun Fair for families who have a child with a disability.  It will be on Sunday, September 25 from 12:00 - 4:00. The event is for the entire family and includes: fair food, games/prizes, moon bounce, face painting, family bingo (prizes for the adults and children), a rabbit petting zoo, and costumed guests.

    Healthy Cooking Classes

    The Penn State Extension Office and Perry Copunty Food Bank are planning a series of 6 cooking classes to help you care for and feed your family a healthy diet on a limited budget.  In these classes you'll:

    • learn how to prepare low-cost, quick meals
    • develop new cooking and food safety skills
    • try new nutritious foods
    • receive great gifts that will hep you to put your skills into practice

    The classes begin on Sept 8, 2016 from 9:30-11:00 AM.

    Free Parenting Workshop

    Do you feel like you repeat the same pattern over and over but nothing ever changes?  Would you like to learn new behavioral intervetnion strategies to break out of the cycle and beter understand your child?  Would you like to meet other parents dealing with the same issues?

    Perry County Food Bank

    The Perry County Food Bank operates an Emergency Food Pantry three days a week:  M, W and F.  There are additional food distribution areas to outlying sites one Saturday per month.  The hours of operation vary so seek additional information on the hours of operation.

    Perry County Literacy Council

    Are you inderested in adult education opportunities?  The Perry County Literacy Council offers adult assessment and instruction in all subject areas.  This is accomplished through teachers, one to one tutors and computer instruction.  They provide GED instruction and testing registration for Perry County.  Additionally, they offer free income tax prepartion for low to moderate-income families.     Beacon Clinic

    Beacon Clinic for Health and Hope is a member of the PA Association of Free Clinics and is a nonprofit charitable ministry.  Its mission is to inspire hope, health and well-being by providing high quality, culturally competent free, faith-based primary healthcare to uninsured and underserved adults in the Greater Harrisburg community.  The clinic provides primary health care services that are free to all adults who qualify.
